Buyisa-e-Bag succces storiesCurrent Performance YTD
A total of 170 unemployed youth have been engaged through Buyisa-e-Bag Youth Empowerment Initiatives as an enabling mechanism to have them set up recycling co-operatives in their communities. A total number of 15 000 people have been involved in clean up campaigns and over 18 000 bags of refuse collected.

Each Buy-Back Centre employs 15 permanent staff members, and 30 casuals. · External Recycling centres supported by Buyisa-e-Bag Plan to support 9
Each recycling centre employs 15 permanent staff members and 30 casuals, with the exception of Ashton Recycling Centre (Western Cape), which has 24 permanent employees and 15 casuals. · Youth Empowerment Initiatives Plan to have 8 in the following provinces: Free State–1 Northern Cape– 1 Eastern Cape– 2 Kwa-Zulu Natal – 1 Western Cape– 1 Limpopo– 2 Each initiative invites 40 to 60 unemployed youth over 3 day programme. Clean-up Campaigns Plan to have 20 Clean-Ups Each Clean-Up campaign attracts 300 to 500 people from the community at large.
Schools Education Programme Plan to support the following schools in the provinces listed below: Free State– 15 Eastern Cape– 256 Kwa-Zulu Natal – 20 Western Cape– 20 Gauteng– 20 Limpopo–15 Each school has an average number of 800 learners.
Green Ambassador Programme Plan to run a pilot project in 15 schools in Gauteng, with an average number of 800 learners per school. Launches Buy-Back Centres already built:

A total of 291 schools in all regions have financially benefitted from Buyisa-e-Bag recycling awareness and educational initiatives. The average number of learners per school is 800 meaning that 232 800 pupils have been engaged by Buyisa-e-Bag as part of the schools education programme.
